Has to be the Wren for me.
Can be native or seasonal visitor. No Egyptian condors lads sorry.
See [here](https://birdwatchireland.ie/birds/wren/) for resources.
Edit: What a courteous and sound comments section. Birds really bring out the best in people.
Looks like the top picks are the Goldfinch, Humble robin, the Blackbird and the buzzard. All top class birds. No mention of the bluejay, siskin or sparrow which I was slightly surprised by!

I enjoy watching a grey heron
I love the goldfinch, but for nostalgia the robin is king.
I love pigeons. Most delightfully tempered, gentle birds ever. People think they’re dirty, but they’re not. They’re not noisy like starlings, they’re not aggressive like seagulls. They just want to coup and chill and that’s alright with me. 🕊️
Jackdaws or Tolouse Geese
Dee
Bullfinch, class yokes.
Long eared owl for me – rarely seen in the day time but if you do get a glimpse there’s something otherworldly about them
Goldfinches – get them in pairs – counted 12 one day – class flash of gold when the sun catches them right.
Also like linnets and only heard recently they’re quite rare. cool see them
I enjoy a buzzard personally!
The Cough is a cool bird. Like a crow with a bright red beak. Get a lot of them on the cliffs around kinsale.
The puffin is kind of an iconic Irish bird, but I’m yet to ever spot one. Anyone know the best spot without taking a boat?
Two, buzzards for coming back from the brink, and now can be seen in a lot of places, and puffins because they shouldn’t be able to fly
Goldfinch. It’s so colourful it’s almost tropical.
Big fan of Corvids myself. Not sure which specific one would be my favourite. Falcons are generally pretty cool too.
Robins. My nan loved Robins, she had cancer and spent her last few weeks at home and for those few weeks a Robin would always fly up to the window and it would make her day. So anytime I see a Robin, I think if my nan.
Golden Brahma rooster..have him about a year now he’s the business..
Always been a fan of the curlew, though it’s a bit rarer to see/ hear them the last few years. Nice to take a walk down to the lake in the evening and hear them calling
Robins. They fight to the death sometimes. Absolute double hard bastards
I really like how the blackbird in my garden just kind of prances along the ground. That guy is my best bird.
Eagley
Has to be the Kingfisher, beautiful colours.
Not ONE mention of a Swan lads? WTF?
Big magpie fella.
Plus, you gotta be a magpie respecter, or else you’ll drown in bad luck.
Saw a raven just over a year ago in the Cooley mountains. Was having a snooze on a climbing mat and just vibing when the whoosh of its wings roused me. Honestly, had never seen anything like it, it was huge. It had such a presence. It flew off before myself and my husband really understood what we’d seen. We just looked at eachother in amazement.
No wonder they’re all over the Irish myths!
The coot, love the way they walk about bobbing and weaving looking for food.
Ive always really admired the Blue Tit.
They’re distinctive, very eye catching, and for their size they are fiercely protective when defending their nests.
After seeing a Blue Tit, smaller than a hens egg, successfully fend off a fully grown cat, my respect for that bird grew massively.
That bird has balls the size of Bengali Tigers.
Anything to be said for a barn owl?
Never seen one in the wild but you’d see them most Fridays nights watching the Late Late
Grey wagtails have recently started visiting my garden. They are absolutely stunning birds.
I do also love blue tits. I’ve had them nesting in my yard the last 3 years.
We have a woodpecker. He’s kinda cool.
I love blue tits. There’s always several around our bird feeders. I also love a bull finch.
