I’ve seen similar sentiments articulated elsewhere, but I do think think that waving flags other than the US flag are missing a tremendous opportunity to advance the cause.
Want to play into the narrative that we’re being overrun by immigrants? Go ahead. Want to perpetuate an “us vs. them” mindset in the face of bigotry? Suit yourself.
For as many cameras, eyeballs, and for as much attention is being paid to this event, I’d much prefer to capitalize on the opportunity to show US Military lined up against US flags.
