Drove through Ballymena town earlier today and it was so fucking dystopian. Soo many boarded up windows and almost every house declaring they’re “locals” or from the Philippines. Nasty work.

I walked past 2 houses today with these signs on my street and felt physically sick.

The Philippines is a deeply Catholic country with the 3rd Highest Population of Catholics in the world. I take it Loyalists know no different.
I have an Irish first name and Eastern European sounding surname. This house burning situation is making me nervous.
I live in a village that has flags everywhere and we don’t have any friends here. Our friends live in Belfast.
This might sound like a stupid question but should I be putting signs in my windows to let people know I’m not Romanian? Cause how are the torchers identifying which houses to burn down? It has to be either word of mouth or there is a list of names and addresses being circulated?
About a year ago we did get a piece of paper in our door letterbox saying that (whoever wrote it’s ) family has always lived in the village, and that they belong here and deserve to live here.
I took that to mean they felt that I/we didn’t. I asked him if it seemed like a veiled threat and he said no, they probably just want to buy the house. But he might have said that to keep me from worrying. My husband was born and has always lived here and my family is predominantly Irish but the part of my dad’s side that is Eastern European gave me this surname. I haven’t changed to my husbands name yet.
‘I work in a care home?’ What the fuck has that to do with anything?
What they need to do is wipe lambs blood above the door FFS…..it’s supposed to be 2025!
I use to work with a Filipina with a much older husband from here. She use to parrot her husbands views about how Nigel Farage is a great leader. Wonder how her week’s been
