IMF to Approve $500 Million Tranche for Ukraine’s EFF Program

This was reported during a press briefing in Washington by the Director of the IMF Communications Department, Julia Kozak, Ukrinform reports

The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) plans to hold a meeting in the coming weeks to review the eighth review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program for Ukraine. It is expected that at this meeting a decision will be made to allocate the next tranche of approximately 500 million dollars. This was announced by Julia Kozak, Director of the IMF Communications Department, during a press briefing in Washington.

She also noted that once a specific date is set, the IMF will officially announce it.

Kozak confirmed that if the Executive Board makes a positive decision, Ukraine will receive a tranche of about 500 million dollars. Thus, the total amount of disbursements under the EFF program for Ukraine will reach 10.6 billion dollars, including previous tranches.

“I can also add that Ukraine’s economy remains resilient, and the performance under the EFF remains strong despite very challenging circumstances. The authorities have met all quantitative performance criteria and indicative targets, and progress on the structural agenda in Ukraine continues”

Recall that on May 29, Ukraine and the IMF agreed on the eighth review of the Extended Fund Facility program, signaling the continuation of cooperation between the country and the fund.
