Shooter kills at least nine in attack on Austrian school • FRANCE 24 English

gunshots rang out in an Austrian high school Tuesday morning police and first responders immediately rushed to the scene the secondary school is located near the historic center of Katz Austria’s second largest city police assure the situation is now under control there is no longer any acute danger for the local population the remaining pupils have been accommodated in the immediate vicinity and are being looked after by the crisis intervention team we are currently assuming that one perpetrator is behind the attack the state criminal police office is now also on site and is investigating in order to find out the motive kat’s mayor Ka told press that several people including multiple students and at least one adult were killed in what she called a terrible tragedy the suspected shooter was also reported dead though circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear many more were rushed to the hospital with injuries messages of condolence immediately streamed in from around Europe we would like to offer our deepest condolences to the families of vict victims and the entire city of grass and the and we stand together in mourning and while we seek clarity uh in the wake of this horrible event uh in in a school attacks like this one are rare in Austria the Alpine Nation ranks among the 10 safest countries in the world according to the Global Peace Index it is also one of the most heavily armed civilian populations in the EU with an estimated 30 firearms per 100 persons

  6. The most likely scenario is this was a case related to bullying or some sort of abuse that happened in the school, since the perpetrator was a student there, who never finished school. Could be bullying, or some episode with a faculty member. Also curious to know that he was 21, and owned a license to own the handgun and shotgun he used, and 21 is the minimum age to acquire that license in Austria. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that he was steaming and just holding it up until he got the means to commit this atrocity.

    Hope is not an immigrant who crossed the border illegally. Because the whole
    Schengen borders have control because illegal immigrants are coming to cause havoc in the various countries.
    Now that is an Austrian, what are we going to do?
