  1. Of course the Republican wants to place blame equally when one party actually proposes and puts forth legislation while Republicans shoot everything down to make sure they can keep running on it. Shocking

  2. Schwarzenegger, I still have more respect for you than most republicans, but fuck you for trying to both sides this shit. Fuck you to hell and back.

And the fact that I can say that and still honestly say that I have more respect for him than other Republicans is fucking depressing.

  3. There was a bill written by senator from Oklahoma that would have easy passed the senate last year Trump said don’t do it and then Mike Johnson said he wouldn’t bring it up for vote in the house

  4. No, this is pretty squarely on Republicans.

Democrats wanted to pass a border bill but Trump told his rats to block it and they did.

  5. Democrats get like a 3/10 rating. Republicans get a -10/10.

    The difference in simple terms?

    Democrats are borderline useless

    Republicans are dangerous

  6. As long as big money is involved there will be no reform. We’re too busy fighting each other to realize we’ve already lost.

  7. Hey Arnie, remember the bi-partisan immigration deal Trump and the Republicans torpedoed?

  8. Democrats need to own their piece of this. And all of you cry babies that think Arnold is passing blame he’s not, democrats have been passive and complicit in not passing any meaningful immigration reform, just look at the dreamers who lingered into adult hood, that are now at risk. Take responsibility for your party and their weak leadership and your own inability to take any accountability as a voter. Yeah, republicans are doing this now, but democrats could have done far more before this, and they didn’t.

  9. Nah this one is solely on Republicans. They tanked their own their own bill and Biden said if they passed a bill and it got to his desk he would sign it.

  10. People getting so mad about this as if Obama and Biden didn’t also deport a ton of people in their administrations. Trump might be doing it more publicly and violently but neither party is a genuine friend to immigrants

  11. Arnold is one of the few people who could get out in front of this and maybe cause some momentum to finally address issues that have been growing since Ellis Island. We need responsible voices to acknowledge that what we have now is an utter failure both from an immigration policy standpoint and from a national right to control our borders.

  12. The two party system has to end to save US Democracy.

Ranked choice voting in general elections.

Sure, the Republicans are robbing the bank, but the Democrats are driving the get away car.

  13. They had a bipartisan agreement that Republicans killed for Trump. It’s a one side problem.

  14. Dems had a generous border security bill all ready to pass and republicans KOed it because Trump tweeted about it.

  15. Does anybody else remember the bipartisan immigration bill like a year ago?

The one that trump tanked in congress by threatening to primary any Republican who voted for it?

    Anybody?

  16. Remember Arnie, the dems did try and Trump sank it.

  17. Huh. I sure seem to remember Democrats trying for reform and Republikkkans shutting it down.

  18. He’s 100% right. As long as there’s something controversial to campaign on for either side of the spectrum then there’s money to be made in politics. He absolutely hits the nail on the head saying there’s no incentive for a solution to any of these issues when there’s unlimited money involved.

Being a politician previously was for advocates who would make their point and depart or retirees who wanted better things for their communities and constituents. Being a politician as a profession is a relatively recent development and started in the 1940s-1950s before then it was literally a public service people were providing not a cash grab like it is now

  19. Arnold literally idolizes Reagan and Nixon… I think his heart is in the right place with a lot of things, but his political ideology is fucked.

  20. They tried to pass immigration reform in the last congress. It was torpedoed by the Republicans as it would actually led to being able to address the problem and Donny needed something to campaign on.

  21. There was a pretty decent right leaning border bill with wide bipartisan support that Trump tanked

  22. I mean, there was bipartisan legislation that had support until Trump derailed it.

  23. There was a comprehensive bipartisan immigration reform bill poised to pass before trumpie trashed it. To pretend Repubs want to address this issue is pure fantasy.

  24. I like the guy but anyone trying to both sides this should sit down and shut up.

  25. Pretty sure there was a bilateral immigration reform bill worked out a year or two ago and ONE party decided at the last minute to vote against it because they have allegiance to ONE specific person and not the country. Maybe call them out first.

  26. Who was it again, who despite not holding any official office, called upon the GoP to tank the most comprehensive bipartisan supported border protection bill that was a wet dream of things the GoP were asking for and Biden was willing to sign?

But sure, blame democrats. They have their faults for sure but Arnold’s take here ain’t it.

  27. Then Arnie is showing his dementia. Because, Democrats had an overhaul on the table under Biden which had bi-partisan support that would have fixed a lot of problem. What happened?

TACO didn’t like it and got the Republicans to tank it. Even through it had pretty much everything they were screaming about in the bill.

  28. Shut up, Arnold.

Drumpf torpedoed an immigration reform last year, drafted by republican senators, because it would give dems a win and the ’24 election.

Go back to making crappy movies.

  29. If the reform targeted those hiring them you can bet things would be solved pretty fast.

  30. When a Republican is saying this he knows it’s their fault.

  31. Democrats have been trying bipartisan immigration reform for years and conservatives keep killing it, dems repeatedly offered more border funding in exchange for making legal immigration easier

  32. He’s wrong.

It’s not “democrats and republicans.” It’s ONLY republicans.

Democrats tried for years to negotiate. They in fact DID negotiate, coming up with proposal after proposal, eventually basically caving in, and saying “fine, we will write a bill that gives you 95% of what you want.”

And what did republicans do? They shot it down. They refused to vote on it, because they did NOT want it fixed, especially with Biden in charge.

In short, Democrats said “We will sign ANY bill you want to pass to fix this” and republicans said “well, we do NOT want to fix this.” As Pete Butigeig said once, they don’t want to fix immigration, because to them, the problem is worth more than the solution.

  33. And what, if anything, did he do while he was Governor of CA. Did he address it at all ?

  34. Missing the key point that republicans don’t want anything fixed. They want chaos that they can blame on “lawless democrats”. They killed a bipartisan immigration bill. Both-siding is horseshit.

  35. Oh, look. Another republican apologist. The whataboutism is sickening

  36. It sure does appear that way, but he should not forget that Dems and GOP had a bipartisan immigration bill ready to go and unelected Trump at the time made the cowardly GOP cave in. The GOP is to blame for what’s happening TODAY

  37. Might be worth pointing out that there was a bipartisan bill that was passed in the Senate under Biden that both sides were lauding as a great piece of legislation and subsequently killed in the house by Speaker Johnson because Trump/Elon said to spike it…

  38. Fuck this both-sideism bullshit. This is 100% on the Republicans.

  39. The real hacks are out here spouting “both-sides” bullshit

  40. He’s not wrong.  Part of the Immigration bill that Republicans and Biden agreed on would have addressed these long term immigration issues by speeding up courts and adjusting quotas…. as well as lots of money for BCP to keep people from jumping the border.  But something stopped that bill from passing. Hmm.

You see the issue was NEVER jumping the border.  It is racism.  MAGA-Heritage-Federalists want brown people out of the country…. that’s why Trump just “declared” 500k more people “illegal” this week.

  41. Wish he wasn’t right. You can blame the left, you can blame the right. At the end of the day none of them seem to really care about us. The divide is staggering
