It ain’t much, but it’s honest work.
Chasing these things with merely shotguns and ordinary vehicles sounds pretty dangerous. I hope they at least give them shrapnel armor.
It will be difficult to beat the Ukranians in trap shooting competitions…
Start of a cottage industry of manufacturing homemade radio jammers?
Wait, you guys get paid?
How does one determine what a Russian drone vs a Ukrainian drone looks like?
Isn’t there a danger of friendly fire on Ukrainian drones?
I’m coming, Vlad!!!
I wonder if barrage balloons would work to defend against drones? Perhaps have two or more hoist a large net across a wide area?
Bring in the turkish shooter from the Olympics. Guy will knock Shaheds out of the sky with a hand in his pocket
lol I want a zombie land style kill of the week chart!
“Mavis here took out 3 drones with a bag of rice and a parsnip!”
I wonder how much some old WWII-era flak cannons go for?
If they get good at it then Russia might be forced to start sending their drones at military targets!
Pack your things…..
That’s a misleading headline, they are bringing in the militias that where activated under martial law to assist in light air defence duties.
They are going to be networked in with the air defence system and use light AA guns.
It’s to spread the net wider to catch more of the slow and low suicide drones that Russia has been using. They fly erratic paths to skirt around air defence zone and hide their targets. Now there’s going to be small units with auto cannons around every settlement to catch them.
If it was my country I’d do it for free
So can you write off ammo as business expenses?
Honest hustle
Send em a couple million cheapo shotguns.
Maybe too soon….but dark comedy where this is a sub plot. Grabbing a pint after a dry shift etc
Another case for why civilians need to have personal guns.
The article probably wanted to say about shooting down flying shovels, because where did Russia get weapons after so much time, they have already run out, as has their economy.
Volley ball nets, volleyball nets everywhere
Put netting 30 yards past any row of trees or power lines. Then again at 50 yards. Shoot down the ones that don’t get snagged.
This sounds like a fun thing for trap/clay shooters, or people who hunt birds. It’s a challenge for them. But given that it’s war, it’s got kind of a “the greatest game” feel.
For those wondering how far $2,400 goes in Ukraine:
> The full payout would be a hefty sum for many Ukrainians. By comparison, government statistics said the average monthly salary in Ukraine was 14,577 hryvnias, or about $353, per the last-recorded figures from January 2022, the month before the war began.
I recently saw a video of a cat taking down a small low flying drone. Get that cat their bounty.
Civil Air defense was used successfully in many countries under aerial siege (e.g. Britain during the Blitz). I’m guessing it achieves more success with slow, low flying drones.
“The measure, which allows civilians to use their hunting guns and cars”
Geez what kinda cars are these guys using over there.
What if I miss and drone sees me?
We will see new Olympic star shooters being trained in Ukraine.
Shout out to the hustla in the photo blasting a drone down with an MG-42
Remember this lady?

Slava Ukraine
A cowboy bebop version of best kills of the week 😂
Wonder how they do friend or foe ID when they see a drone that could potentially be Ukrainian or Russian.
Getting paid to skeet shoot. Hell yeah.
Am from Ukraine, this is the first time I hear about this shit…
Drones have developed to the point where they can fly over enemy lines, and rest above or by roads for an hour or two. When an enemy vehicle goes past they fly to them and bomb them. This is disruptive of supply chains and makes even safe areas unsafe. Ukraine started using them first but both sides do this now. If you were to see a stationary drone or one operating in this fashion and destroy it you could be saving many human lives and important equipment.
