  1. **Ukraine Launches Mass Production of Its First Ballistic Missile – Media**

The “Sapsan” missile complex had been under development for many years, but real progress only materialized during the full-scale war.

Ukraine has conducted successful tests of its own ballistic missile, the Sapsan, and is now beginning mass production. This was reported by Valentyn Badrak, director of the Center for Army, Conversion and Disarmament Studies, in an article for LIGA.net.

“In July 2024, the first successful tests of the first ballistic missile took place,” the expert stated.

He noted that ballistic missiles are more powerful and faster than cruise missiles. For example, the Ukrainian Sapsan reached a speed of Mach 5.2 during tests—roughly 6,370 km/h. By comparison, the American ATACMS travels at about Mach 3, and the Russian Iskander-M at approximately Mach 6.

A major advantage of ballistic missiles is their parabolic flight trajectory, which makes them significantly harder to intercept using standard air defense systems.

“Even older American ATACMS ballistic missiles proved this in practice, as the enemy was unable to intercept them,” Badrak emphasized.

According to Badrak, the Sapsan was successfully used in combat for the first time in May 2025, destroying a Russian military target approximately 300 km away.

He also stated that the missile will now enter mass production, and according to the Ministry of Defense, no obstacles remain to that process.

As for specifications, the Sapsan carries a warhead weighing 480 kg. By comparison, the warhead of the ATACMS (high-explosive variant) weighs 227 kg.

“This suggests that Ukraine is already on the path to strengthening its missile capabilities, which is important not only for the present but also for the future of the state and nation,” the expert concluded.

    ### New Ukrainian Weapons

As previously reported by UNIAN, Ukraine has begun effectively using Bulava strike-reconnaissance drone systems at the front—regarded as the Ukrainian answer to Russia’s Lancet.

It was also reported that new “Volynyaka” hexacopters have entered service with the Defense Forces, designed for hunting heavily armored vehicles.

  2. Time to start lunching Israel style incursion strikes.

  3. Range of 300km and a half ton warhead. If these missiles really are in production, they should be able to destroy the Kerch bridge.

  4. Ukraine was the military industrial and engineering powerhouse for the Soviet Union. It is no surprise to me that they have developed a tactical ballistic missile system so quickly. With all the 5 columnists resistance forces that have infiltrated the occupied territory and russia thus far and some help from European satellite imagery I have no doubts that they will have a target rich environment.

  5. Even the threat of these will force Russia to spread further thin its already depleted air defense network!
