   It’s a good thing I will never be in a room with any of u because I would be unable to not show you exactly where I think u all belong 

   Aldo Leopold said that one of the penalties of an ecological education is learning to live in a world full of wounds

   And I am frankly wound the fuck up about this one – it is becoming harder by the day to not retreat into what nature we have left, and now one we are purposely attacking salmon…. SALMON… One of the healthiest foods in the world and in human development and longevity

   Towards the end of the book Sapiens, the author mentions how Long John Silvers has changed the fish they use in their fast food multiple times in recent decades, not because there are many to choose from, but because they have to accept whatever is simply available now because so little is left…

   the scale of destruction humans have brought onto the oceans is unimaginable  and yet we are continuing to push and push and push. We dump hazardous chemicals and radioactive waste and trash, we drag nets through the water and along the seafloor, we drill for oil (and likely soon heavy metals) which causes ecological devastation BEFORE the environmental catastrophes (nothing like the feel good marketing of Dawn dish soap being used to help seagulls bricked up with sticky oil, amirite??)… Even noise pollution from ships, warming and acidification from climate change…. We are losing our oceans in real time folks, it is incomprehensible

   There is not a single place on earth not impacted in some way by human destruction. Humans are by far the most destructive species to ever exist and we are in the middle of the greatest extinction event in modern history. The only thing more immediately destructive would be a fucking catastrophic meteor hitting the earth

   Anyways if anyone has any recommendations on how to cope with this constant pain of ecological destruction, let me know
