Tragedy in Graz

On June 10, a 21-year-old former student carried out a shooting at a Graz school, resulting in 11 deaths. After the attack, the shooter took his own life in a school bathroom. Police reported that he was withdrawn and spent a lot of time playing online games. His motives remain unknown.

This incident became the deadliest shooting in modern Austrian history, according to the BBC. Previously, the worst tragedy occurred in 2020 when Islamist Kujtim Fejzulai killed four people and injured 23 in central Vienna.

Also, in 2016, in the town of Neutzing, a man opened fire during a concert, killing two and injuring 11 before shooting himself.
