> In Variety’s new profile of the Hollywood Forever Cemetery — the legendary resting place for many industry titans in Los Angeles — co-owner Tyler Cassity revealed that Yelchin’s parents, Irina and Viktor, visit the actor’s grave nearly every day, nine years after his tragic death at 27.
> “I’ve never encountered a vigil like theirs,” Cassity told the outlet.
The way that kid died must’ve been absolutely brutal for his family to absorb. He had a bright future ahead of him, it’s a damn shame people like him die young and the evil people in the country/government somehow all seem to live until 100.
One of the many reasons it’s clear there is no god. If there is one, he’s a major fucking asshole.
Absolutely tragic passing. If I remember correctly, Jeep had to make changes to their confusing gear selector
He would’ve had a really stellar career. He was really heating up. His role in Star Trek I remember he was so charming
Long live Charlie Bartlet. You will be missed.
I haven’t been able to see another film of his since he passed away. He was only a few years older than me, and his death impacted me so much that I can’t even look for photos of him because I get so sad. Poor guy, he was too young. And poor parents.
I can’t imagine the pain they must feel. No parent should ever have to bury their child.
i remember reading when he died and now I double, triple check that the car is in park, break, etc.
He was also the voice of Jim on Trollhunters, my kid’s favorite show. We watched the whole series a couple of times before he asked why Jim’s voice changes at one point. Super sad.
One of the most horrifyingly undeserved deaths i can think of. Such a freak accident to such a positive person during such a meteoric rise in his career. 🙁
Horrifically sad, but not surprising…
A good friend was killed in a hit and run at 27 years old a few years ago. The sense of loss is horrible; it’s not just losing the person, but shock and tragedy of the loss is compounded. You mourn who they might have been, the family they might have had and it just destroys the parents to bury their child. There’s just a hole in your world that can never be filled.
This is not some obscure fact, it was well known that his parents visit all the time. I remember reading many stories from people going on tour to the cemetery and watching the parents there.
Parents losing their children is always a tragedy. But when we realized that Anton had cystic fibrosis, he was an only child and dying in such a freak accident. It’s devastating.
Lost my wife 4 years ago. Grief doesn’t have a finish line.
His parents will always be grieving over him because they always will love him.
I hope by visiting his grave daily they find some sort of peace with it.
Some people just light up the screen Anton blew it up. He is missed.
i love all his appearances. He was great on screen, and his movies always fun.
I got to work with him and chill together while making a movie a long time ago. We got along instantly and I always hoped we’d get to work together again. I was very sad when he passed
Life is a tragedy and not just for those in movies.
I think it’s beautiful that his parents visit his grave every day. Their son was so loved and admired.
He’s the reason I walk in front of my car when I park in my drive way. RIP
In his very first role he held the screen scene after scene with Anthony Hopkins. Legend.
His poor parents. I hope they find peace someday for their pain. Also, that man needs to respect their privacy, bc wtf
Particularly nasty cocky option on that site that moves as you press reject all to accept all.
It’s a nice grave. They’ve got a life size statue of him overlooking the lake at Hollywood Forever. When I visited it was surrounded by flowers and little trinkets people had left for him.
He was my favourite rising star, we were robbed. RIP and much love to the Yelchins.
Society is in a great place when parents can’t even grieve in peace without being used to make an article
Ok? that kinda seems like normal behavior, feels really icky to use this as news
Chris Cornell was my hero, and I visited his grave a few years ago. Anton’s beautiful statue is right next to it. I was already choked up, but that really got to me. So unfair.
Such a tragedy, such a young talented actor that could carry entire movies on his back. The freight Night Remake and Od Thomas adaption are great examples of mediocre movies that he elevates into enjoyable watches. He’s also amazing in movies like Green Room.
Nobody ever recovers from this kind of thing. I wish they’d just leave those poor, broken people alone.
Losing a child is the worst thing that can happen to you.
The world really started going to shit after Anton died
His death was so tragic, literally doing nothing wrong. He was very talented and from all indications he was a very good human being, his death is so sad
I still think about his death regularly. Some Final Destination bullshit. I can’t stop imagining what went through his mind in those last moments.
Variety doint Variety things for the clicks.
“What is grief but love persevering?”
He was in one of my favorite films “5 to 7”. RIP.
I worked with a man who knew this actor when he was younger, he said he was such a sweet kid. What a terrible tragedy, I feel for his poor parents.
Fuck Jeep
Fuck FCA/Stellantis or whatever the fuck it’s called now
He was so god damn great in green room, genuinely one of my favourite performances of all time
Grief never ends. You just learn to cope with it.
Had the privelage of seeing his beautiful shrine at Hollywood Forever.
Still so devastating.
If you want to cry watch the movie he’s in Rudderless. You will be destroyed.
I think about him often, he seemed like such a lovely person
Okay? They’re his parents…
Man celebrity news is weird…
