15th June 2025 – (Seoul) Pop Mart Korea announced on 14th June that it is temporarily suspending in-store sales of its popular Labubu plush toys and keychains due to safety concerns at physical retail locations. In a statement posted on Instagram, the company expressed its commitment to prioritising customer safety and apologised for any inconvenience caused by the suspension. Pop Mart pledged to enhance its services and resume physical sales once safety measures are improved.

Labubu, created by Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung, has garnered global popularity for its charming design and catchy theme song. However, the frenzy surrounding the collectable has sparked conflicts among shoppers in various markets. In the UK, disputes over Labubu merchandise in physical stores have even escalated into physical altercations.
