An American diplomat told Israel Hayom that Iran’s decision whether and when to resume negotiations on a nuclear deal would be based on the direct implications for the regime’s stability.
“I believe it depends on how Khamenei evaluates the survivability of his regime and the threat to its rule. And not necessarily in the immediate term, but rather based on the long-term consequences of a decision not to resume negotiations.”
Earlier, Israel Hayom revealed that Iran had reached out to Qatar and Oman with the goal of renewing talk, and securing an end to Israeli strikes.

The same diplomat added, “The US will impose paralyzing and airtight sanctions, and most European countries will join.”
Regarding the possibility of an American military strike, he responded: “That’s a presidential decision. It’s not certain he is there yet. He has declared more than once that war is not the preferred solution. In any case, there won’t be a real need for it unless it becomes clear that it’s necessary to immediately prevent the production of a nuclear weapon, and that Israel is unable to carry out the required operation on its own.”
“In any case, if negotiations are renewed, they will take place under different terms than before. That will be made clear to Iran, and it will have to make difficult decisions: whether to show flexibility and reach a ceasefire and a genuine nuclear agreement, or to stick to its positions, in which case talks may not resume at all.”
