Snert.

Snert (also known as erwtensoep) is a thick, hearty soup made primarily from split green peas, pork (often smoked sausage and pork belly or hock), and various vegetables such as carrots, leeks, celeriac (celery root), and onions. It’s slow-cooked until the peas break down and the soup becomes thick and creamy. The dish is typically served with slices of rookworst (Dutch smoked sausage) and sometimes rye bread with bacon or cheese on the side.

  2. Sorry, but yesterday it was 28° and you are thinking about snert? What’s wrong with you?

  3. It looks bad but it‘s pretty tasty allthough shame on you geert for making this winter dish out of season

  4. Snert looks exactly how I imagined it would. Some things are just perfectly named.

  5. That’s 3 days worth of dinner and breakfast right there. Love it.

  6. I know going from 30c yesterday to 20c today may feel like winter has come.
But really? Pea soup in this season? Heretic!!!

  7. Importent question was there a “schmatzen” sound when you tried to pull out the ladle?

  8. So it’s basically a pea soup with extra veg and some meat? Would. Also Finns would go crazy for this, they love their pea soup.

  9. You posted this too early to get a reaction from the PIGS, they won’t wake up for another 2 hours

  10. Sounds a lot like Linsensuppe which also tastes much better than it looks.

However, the presentation is really not helping here – looks like the handle of a plunger stuck in the dregs of a clogged drain 😖

  11. Ngl this looks delicious. Every stew that looks like that tastes great.

  12. Nothing beats a big bowl of Erbesensuppe on a hit summer day.

  13. I know you are practically German as well, but how many meat to you want to put into that thing/eat with that thing?

  14. Mijn verbazing toen ik zag dat dit gepost was door een mede-Nederlander en niet een brit

  15. Oh, so it’s just grochówka? I love it, every food festival has in its military section 😋😋
