U.S. Vice President JD Vance wished his wife “happy anniversary” during his speech at the capital military parade.

The vice president, 40, and the second lady, 39, tied the knot on June 14, 2014, in an interfaith ceremony in Kentucky after graduating from Yale Law School.

Vance made his remarks shortly after the president gave a short speech before a country music concert, during which Trump made a bizarre remark to troops. The parade began 30 minutes earlier than scheduled because of inclement weather conditions in the area.

Several of the planned festivities were refigured, including an airdrop from the Army Golden Knights Parachuters, because of the rain.

According to the U.S. Army, 6,169 soldiers paraded through the streets alongside 128 tanks, armored personnel carriers and artillery while 62 aircraft flew overhead.

The parade, which is also happening on President Trump’s 79th birthday, is estimated to cost between $25-$45 million.

The Army believes that up to 200,000 will attend the event, which involves a host of activities including fitness challenges, live demonstrations, equipment exhibitions, musical performances and a cake-cutting event.

Meanwhile, over 2,000 counterprotests occurred during the day across the country.
