  1. Economic uncertainty is still sky high, prices on consumer goods/services continue to increase.

  2. Maybe we should use different metrics to gauge how well everything is going?

I want to see how the bottom 10% is doing. How much are they spending on food/housing/transportation/healthcare/leisure as a % of their monthly income? Are they saving or going into debt at the moment?

Averages and GDP also includes wealth hoarders…

  3. We’ll see after this summer. Many retailers, importers and wholesalers were loading up on their item stocks before the tariffs went into effect.

  4. Mate of mine in the US is a manager in Grocery store retail

Said they price of everything is us and shipping quantities massively down.

Cuts to all extras. Bonuses, overtime, promotion etc etc.

She’s actively looking for another job because there is no promotion coming down the line and she needs more money just to stand still.

For the record. Rural Town outside a large commuter town for a HCOL area

  5. Groceries are absurdly expensive and getting pricier. How is this not deep inflation?

  6. I could have sworn I just read inflation was up 2.4% in May… I don’t think inflation fears have gone anywhere. Everyone i talk to about the economy is scared to death we are headed for the worst recession in american history.

  7. Shelves are empty. Inflation hasn’t even started yet

  8. Well, the threat of tariffs is fading bcuz TACO Don keeps backing off his idiotic tariffs.

  9. Yeah because wages have totally gone up to continue to offset inflation… oh wait that’s not even remotely true. In most cases even year over year raises that supposedly were to offset cost of living increases don’t even do that.

Plus there are so many items that increased 10% year over year where there’s not enough increase wage wise to cancel that out either.

  10. Even if the rate at which prices increase slows down, price (for the most part) haven’t gone down. My paycheck hasn’t gone up – everything is expensive and I feel more and more poor.

  11. Dear starts to fade and market is hitting all time high. Formula for a correction. Not even taking into account every other thing.

  12. Tariff inflation hasn’t even hot yet. We’ve only seen inflation from expectations of tariffs.
