A first for the Highlands and Islands as we had an inspiring weekend raising awareness of medical cannabis at the UK’s northernmost Pride event in Shetland!

We answered questions, heard patient stories, and explored how medical cannabis can transform lives.

We had great discussions with NHS Shetland, Police Scotland, and local groups about community safety, reducing stigma, and building trust.

What surprised me the most though was the contrast. There was a large number or patients, but also a large number of people who had no idea it was legal in Scotland!

We have a few more popups planned across the Highlands and Islands, if anyone is local please feel free to come along and say high!

  1. The fact that it hasn’t been decriminalised at least is an absolute disgrace. Get it taxed and this country would make billions from it, and it would be better regulated; without the awful toxins gangs put in the plants to make them grow quicker, and get bigger yields.

  2. Nice to see. I’ve been on prescription cannabis for a few years now, it always surprises me how many people have no idea- and think I’m talking total wash when I attempt to educate 🫠

  3. I always thought you had to have very specific conditions to get it and only after every other treatment option has been tried, seems like a lot of bother.

  4. Love these guys doing astroturf for Big Weed while they think they are doing “activism.” It’s already about as easy (and risk-free) to buy weed in Scotland as toilet paper. This is about creating a market.

  5. Looks exactly like who I expected to be talking about medical cannabis.

Doing good work out there! Glad people are becoming aware.

  6. Decriminalisation would really be a game changer if a total legislation isn’t possible.

Germany did some sort of legalization and the streets are full of zombies and crime didn’t rise.

Getting medical cannabis is easy via Tele doctors.

  7. Where is the show at Ben Nevis? In Fort William, Nevis Range, or just on the mountain? I have a couple friends that would be very interested due to chronic debilitating back pain and currently self funding..

  8. Hope people realise that even medicinal use puts you in a pinch regarding driving. You could well fail a roadside drug test days or weeks after use. Drug driving is a mandatory 1 year ban

Even if cannabis itself is legalised, you’re never going to get around the impairment issue with use and driving
