  1. TLDR: rarely used in strikes against Ukraine, low ready state. Destroying TU95/22 bombers protects Ukraine more.

    SYL

  2. Because Tu-160 are mainly being maintained at Ukrainka and the drone truck on the way there apparently malfunctioned on the way…

  3. The B-1B will probably be retired before the B-52 – in the world where speed and altitude won’t save you from modern SAM sites, all they can do is launch cruise missiles from standoff distance, something older aircraft can do just as well at lower cost and maintenance. I’d imagine it’s for this reason the ruZZians use older aircraft, which they also have more of, more often.

  4. lol do you think Ukrainians afraid of nuclear attack? After crossing all the red lines – Ukraine knows russia will not use them. Only if Ukrainians will be outside of Moscow. May be. Nuclear weapons are only deterrence.

    Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦

  5. I read that it was because the Tu-160 are primarily nuclear bombers, and destroying them might give the russians an excuse to actually use a nuclear weapon.

  6. There an old UN law, at least an old soviet/commie law that if any, including aircraft, are attached, which is part of their nuclear deterrence strike fleet, it would be grounds for a retaliatory nuclear attack. Also, if NATO saw a TU-160 headed straight towards any NATO territory, it’ll be cooked out of the sky. Flying the plane used specifically for nucelar attacks are not going to be allow past a certain point so when it comes to Ukraine, Putin’s hands are kind of tied.. He risks using it for several reasons, they are not in good shape. Anything launched from it would be seen very far away. it also has a horrendous turn around time making it a sitting ducks for any AA missiles screaming its way. I like to daydream about Russian planes getting blown out of the sky.
