I mean, I get their intention, but the French Revolution was in no fact great for the people. It was followed by endless bloodshed, people sending eachother to the guillotine (no times were easier to get rid off your neighbour) and then followed by another monarchy

Funny thing is, the Americans have their own Revolution, but that was also not actually about overthrowing tyranny really. It was partially an uprising of the American Merchant class, who wanted independance from England and do their own thing (mainly expansion in the Americas, which the British Government didn’t plan on doing) and fought against a Constitutional Monarch who was more clinically nuts than tyrannical
