PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — In an exclusive interview on Your Voice, Your Vote, U.S. Senator Ron Wyden, D-Ore, discussed a new bill aimed at reducing the risk of wildfires.
Sen. Wyden discusses the bill’s impact, and whether he thinks it will have a hard time passing in the current legislative session.
The senator also addressed concerns about a recent Supreme Court decision that allows DOGE access to personal information. “This is a dangerous situation,” Wyden said. He emphasized his commitment to protecting citizens’ data, stating, “I’m not going to sit around and just let their personal data go into the hands of somebody in another country.”
