Chairman and CEO, David Cook, has revealed that Neil Lennon and his squad will travel to south east Europe for a pre-season camp as part of their work towards the start of competitive action next month.

Dunfermline kick off the new campaign with a trip to face Heart of Midlothian in the Premier Sports Cup at Tynecastle on July 12, and have pencilled in four friendly matches in Scotland ahead of that game.

Dunfermline’s players returned on Friday for fitness testing ahead of their first day of full pre-season training tomorrow (Monday), and Cook said they will train at Rosyth for the opening week before jetting abroad to the country where Pars co-owner, James Bord, holds a minority stake in Septemvri Sofia.

Another of Bulgaria’s capital clubs, Slavia, have claimed on their website that they will face the Pars as part of their own pre-season schedule in the town of Bansko, in Bulgaria’s south west at the foot of the Pirin Mountains.

That, however, has not been confirmed by Dunfermline.

Cook, though, has revealed that the University of Stirling will be utilised by the club upon their return, commenting: “Whilst many of us have not had a summer holiday yet, our players and coaching teams are back and from Monday the hard work begins with pre-season.

Dunfermline Press:

“It is a busy schedule, with the boys training at Rosyth in week one before heading off to Bulgaria for a pre-season camp.

“We then return for two weeks at Stirling University. We have local pre-season games in Kelty and at East Fife along with our trip to East Kilbride and a closed doors game in Stirling.

“There will not be any pre-season games at KDM Group East End Park this summer as the pitch is given time to bed in after substantial investment into the surface.

“The weather right now is brilliant for growth and with the improvement of the irrigation system, we are pleased with how it is coming along.

“We have made a six-figure investment into the pitch, and I am really grateful to James and Evan for the level of support on this.”

The fixture list for the 2025/26 SPFL Championship season will be revealed on Friday at 9am.
