Never been on more noisier trains than the TFL ones.
I don’t know the tube very well but I think it’s the Jubilee Line that can be a deafening screech, and it’s not even that old?
Funny, I moved to London June 2021 and have been using the Northern Line to commute, and I just assumed this must be perfectly normal given that everyone around you seems to accept it, but it is utterly deafening
When I saw this I thought it meant in reference to people talking. Which also seems to be on the rise and — personally — far more annoying. 😀
Victoria line. Tottenham Hale up to Kings Cross is terrible.
Thought it meant buskers. I was like “wtf please dont come near me” when visiting London and some ska band was harassing one guy for about a minute straight (or whatever the time is between two stops).
The central line tunnel connection between Stratford and Leyton is actually DEAFENING. I always put my fingers in my ears when I used it daily and people would look at me like i was weird. I didn’t know people could stand the sound, unless their hearing is already too damaged?
