Beelinda died this morning at 10am. She had a lovely morning with fresh flowers and a play on my hand and arm first thing. After that, she seemed to start to struggle to move and then began to slowly curl up – a sure sign she was on her way.
I tried to make her a comfortable as I could in her final moments and then surrounded her with flowers once she had finally stopped moving.
She had a Viking funeral in her sanctuary in the back garden.
Bumblebees with DWV only tend to live for a couple of days – she lived for a week with me in as much comfort as I could provide for her. She had a definite personality and always wanted to climb on my hand when she saw me. I'm going to miss her.

She will bee missed 😢
Thank you for taking such good care of her in her final days. Your compassion is beautiful!
Thank you for taking such loving care of Beelinda.
My wife took care of a lovely bee named Bert earlier this year. Sad times all around but it was nice to send them onto their next destination with love.
Didn’t read the description first that last image took me by surprise 😂
RIP Beelinda, also love how everyone has tuned in for daily updates about this bee
I felt guilty seeing your posts because I had a similar bumblebee in my garden which had to clearly sustained significant damage to one wing which of course is not repairable. She was trying to fly but just going in circles up a few inches and then falling to the ground. I just dispatched her as quickly as I could rather than let her continue to suffer. It’s really nice that you did so much more for Beelinda.
Can I please send you a small gift for a beer or gift on Amazon?
RIP Beelinda 😢
Aw 😢Thank you for sharing her with us! And ofc for looking after her 🐝
Is there a bee equivalent of Valhalla? If so, I hope she’s there!
Photo 7 hit hard
Thank you. What a good soul you have. Beelinda was such a necessary little creature. You cared. Her life mattered.💕
Ah this series of posts brought me a lot of joy. I’m so grateful to you and I’m sure Beelinda was too. 🐝
What a lovely story amidst all the doom and gloom 😊

Thank you for the updates and for caring for such a little creature. Nature takes it’s course, but you gave her an entire life.
Rest in peace little bee
Valhalla will bee filled with blossoms for her.
Did not expect to see Beelinda ablaze in that final pic
She is in Valhalla now, drinking mead with the Gods!
Thank you for being so big hearted and caring for her so well. It was lovely to read about her in these miserable times. ❤️
Wasn’t expecting to be emotionally distraught over the death of a bee today but here we are.
Oh bless her. I actually said “oh no” out loud when I saw the title and now I’m having some trouble with watery eyes. You’re a very kind soul and I appreciate you. Nature appreciates you.
Ah, this is a sad update.
But you did a lovely thing for a tiny creature that most people would have just ignored. You are one of the good ones. Be proud of yourself for that.
