That Bible helped to keep the Welsh language alive. Cornwall missed out there.
I’m not religious by any means but that book being in such incredible condition after so many years is crazy. Happy to see it honestly. That book was a turning point for the Welsh language. That and the mabinogi.

I know you all think I’m a baby-eating Reformer, but I did my undergrad dissertation on William Morgan’s bible. It’s a masterpiece of early modern linguistics (he had to translate from the original vulgate text), and the whole context as to why and how it was written is fascinating. He wanted to naturalize the Reformation, and give Welsh people an opprtunity to practice Protestantism in their own tongue.
This bible is the cornerstone of modern Welsh, and is the main reason why Welsh survived throughout the modern era, whereas Scots Gaelic and other regional languages were swallowed up by English.
The greatest Welshman who ever lived, in my opinion.
