Was a brilliant spot to fly over, felt totally cut off from everything.
If you give them an inch, they’ll take a mile.
00946’s Skyfall
First thought: Better hope FDJT doesn’t see that. He might try to buy it.
Second thought: Could I sneak over there as a refugee if civil war broke out in my country?
Last thought: How does an island become abandoned? Aren’t those coveted by all the wealthy? Please tell me that isn’t owned by some private company that will seek to profit off of it the minute leaving it vacant is not longer the best financial option for them.
Curious to know how many abandoned islands there are. 2 close to me (Mingulay and St.Kilda).
Although from your picture it seems this one was abandoned far later.
Terry (On the phone to Ted): Where is Craggy Island?. We can’t find it on any maps.
Ted (smiling): Oh no, it wouldn’t be on any maps. We’re not exactly New York! No, the best way to find it is to head out from Galway and go slightly north until you see the English boats with the nuclear symbol. They go very close to the island when dumping the old ‘glow-in-the-dark’.
Craggy island father Ted’s place
Looks a bit like Father Ted’s House.
Genuine question. Why has this not been built on? Is it compromised? Seems ideal space for a new-build village.
