Breaking: Trump says to 'immediately evacuate' Tehran Breaking: Trump says to ‘immediately evacuate’ Tehran

“Iran should have signed the “deal” I told them to sign. What a shame, and waste of human life. Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. I said it over and over again! Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!” President Trump said in a Truth Social post Monday. This comes after days of Iran and Israel exchanging missile strikes.

As explosions shook Tehran and air raid sirens rang out across Israel, President Donald Trump posted a stark message from the G7 summit in Canada on Monday: “Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!”

The post, published on Trump’s social media platform, came amid a rapid escalation in hostilities between Israel and Iran. In it, Trump reiterated a now-frequent warning: “IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON.” He wrote that Iran “should have signed the deal I told them to sign,” calling recent violence “a shame, and waste of human life.”

Tehran, home to nearly 10 million people, has been the focus of intense Israeli airstrikes since Friday, including a strike Monday on Iran’s state-run television network that interrupted a live broadcast.

Why did Trump call for evacuations?

The backstory:

The evacuation call came just hours after Israeli forces urged hundreds of thousands of residents in central Tehran to leave their homes. That area includes the state broadcaster’s headquarters, police buildings, and major hospitals—including one affiliated with the Revolutionary Guard.

Israeli military officials claimed the broadcaster’s building was being used to shield military operations. The facility was reportedly hit by four bombs.

During the strike, a state TV reporter fled live on air as an explosion interrupted the broadcast, according to AP and Iran’s state news agency.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told reporters Monday that Israel’s strikes had set back Iran’s nuclear program “a very, very long time.” While Netanyahu said Israel is not seeking regime change, he added, “I would not be surprised if that happens.”
