  1. For context after a thread on Mumsnet appeared it has became a talking point on Twitter with Maya Forstarter and the usual Gender Critical groups kicking up a fuss. Against a bird protection charity organising a free walk through nature.

  2. Anti trans activists really do hunt stuff down to be offended about.

    First world problems indeed.

  3. Here’s the RSPB event in question: https://events.rspb.org.uk/events/96479 It’s in Bedfordshire (an area just a bit north of London)

You can see the language that this “Women’s Equality Watch Scotland” (self-described as “A small female collective based in Dundee”), have been so perturbed by.

“These events are welcoming of any adults who identify as women. We also welcome non-binary individuals who feel comfortable in a women’s only space to these sessions.”

    “FAQs
Are there minimum age requirements to enter the event? This series of Wildlife Walks for Women is for adults only and inclusive of all individuals that identify as women, including cis and trans women.”

    😐

  4. The 2010 Equality Act drafters definitely had single sex bird watching spaces at the front of their mind.

  5. And how would they know without checking genitals in clear breach of Article 8 of the ECHR?

  6. Women are genuinely the victims of so much and this is what “Women’s Equality Watch Scotland” chooses to focus on? Gross

  7. What would these women do if they saw a masculine looking cis woman on the trails? Are they going to stop her and ask for proof of vagjna? This is getting so out of hand, I’m actually starting to feel less safe around the terfs as a cis woman, because they’re clearly absolutely insane

  8. These folks are just gonna lead to fewer women’s only spaces existing 🙁

  9. Of course it would be unfair to have people who were born male on a bird watching hike with people who were born female, because the penis gives natural advantages in birdwatching due to it’s adept honing abilities.

  10. The fact they’re on X says everything you need to know about these harpies.

  11. Could somebody explain to me how it benefits society to have a woman only birdwatching tour?

I could ask why it even exists too but my guess there is because some women really hate or fear men? I genuinely can’t think of another reason.

Sigh, I really thought trans people would start a conversation about stuff like this. Instead we just double down, apparently…

  12. I’m convinced that the sort of people who are mad about trans-inclusive bird watching events really just need to get some real issues in life to deal with.

  13. “gender criticals” are either a) paid off by some kind of donor to sew culture war trash, b) severely in need of therapy, c) both a and b

  14. These idiots will harass anyone who doesn’t abuse trans people like they do.

Starmer gave them the green light to be as awful as they want.

  15. God forbid trans women and non binary peeps are allowed to walk along side cis women! Oh the horror. Im surprised they didn’t claim it would offend the birds 😒 i think we need to bring back throwing rotten veg at people like that to shame them out of their stupidity

  16. There’s not even a “medal to be stolen” here this is literally just a nature walk. Leave trans women alone holy fucking shit.

  17. This is literally against the equalities act amazing that the RSPB would be so silly as to not know this by now. You can have a single sex bird watching group that’s totally fine but that excludes trans women. You can also have a mixed sex bird watching group. I would slightly question why you need to watch birds with only people of one sex but each to their own.

People may like this fact or not like this fact but it is the law. If people want to campaign for a change in that law absolutely they should that’s a democracy but a failure to understand this basic point is a bit ridiculous.
