Based, but it needs a Royal Family in order to withstand the test of time
Damn Greeks are not even the biggest minority. With that rate of demographic changes Kurds would become majority in Greek-Turkish confederation where almost no Greek left
Hell no
That’s literally a monstrosity…
True, the whole island should be the capital of the country.
And we’ll hellenise some of the population to equalise!
I mean , what Greek owned Anatolia would be without some good old sauce of Hellenisation.
Turkish Lira as currency is hilarious.
Wtf
Don’t you realise that two out of the three concerned countries are already part of a political and economic (and perhaps a soon-to-be military) union?
And also, in a different configuration, again two out of the three concerned countries are part of a military alliance?
The foundation of this idea is correct, regional integration, identifying common interests and goals.
The funny thing is that these plans are only partly completed.
Believe it or not, this was an actual concept supported from both Greeks and Turks in some intellectual circles back in the start of the 20th century. [Dimitris Kitsikis](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hellenoturkism) revised this idea in the 60s.
This concept is in the centre of one of the most unknown aspects of greek nationalism in the last centrury. Venizelos (prime minister of greece) was a liberal realist nationalist, who decided a direct confrontation with Turkey and the creation of a big liberal purely greece state (megali idea). Ion Dragoumis, a romantic communitarian nationalist, rejected the western prototype of a liberal state, and supported the Grecoturkish federation idea, with community based socialist structured economy in the whole region of the former ottoman empire
Some sources even mention a junta officer saying (after the Evros meeting in 1967) that the Cyprus problem will become pointless because the Grecoturkish confederation was the only way for the two countries.
NOPE, WE NEED ALL THE EUROPEAN COUNTRIES TO JOIN EACH OTHER AND CALL IT THE EU OR SOMETHING, THEN WE CAN HAVE AN EU PARLIAMENT THAT NO ONE ELECTED MAKING DECISIONS FOR ALL THE COUNTRIES AND HOMOGENISING THE CULTURES. IN THE EU GREECE WOULD BE THE TESTING GROUND FOR THE ECONOMISTS AND BUREAUCRATS TO POOP IN. IN MY VISION OF ULTIMATE HARMONY OF COMBINED EUROPEAN COUNTRIES, ALL THE POOREST ONES ON THE FRINGE SUCH AS UKRAINE AND AFRICA WONT BE ALLOWED TO JOIN AS THEN THE WESTERN TYCOONS WONT HAVE ANY PLACE TO LAUNDER THEIR MONEY.
Poor Kurds, second biggest population, still no official language or recognition.
Wasn’t this a concept that was backed by some politicians/intellectuals like Dimitri Kitsikis? Hellnoturkism comes to mind for that concept.
This is clearly a Turkish solution not for both communities
