  1. I don’t doubt that even back then you had people warning for the consequenses of burning so much coal and other forms of fuel.

  2. We have the tech. It’s corporate greed and propaganda that holds us hostage to the great machines. Why make something you can’t recycle.

  3. Things were on a much smaller scale back then though. Dirtier but not as much of it compared to what you have to produce with today’s population.

  4. Not sure how much tech was required to spot the obvious.

    We’ve known since near the industrial revolution that we were probably doing something wrong.

    Tech just confirmed the obvious

    Edit: and made precious little difference anyhow to our inaction
