Princess Charlotte might have kept warm in a cozy accessory from her parents’ closet in her Father’s Day photo with Prince William.
On June 15, Prince William and Kate Middleton released two new portraits of the Prince of Wales with their kids, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, to commemorate Father’s Day. The shots by photographer Josh Shinner appeared to have been taken on the same day as Prince Louis’ latest birthday portrait, and Charlotte’s scarf made royal watchers do a double-take.
Princess Charlotte sported a deep green and navy tartan scarf in the first color picture with her father and brothers, where they stood together and Charlotte gave Louis a huge hug.

The princess kept it on in the second picture, which was posted in black and white, which showed George, Charlotte and Louis piled up on William, 42, as they all laughed on the ground.
The scarf looked oversized on Charlotte and fell past her knees, a hint that it was borrowed from one of her parents!
Princess Kate, 43, wore a similar plaid scarf with the same colors for Christmas at Sandringham in December 2024, while Prince William has previously slipped on scarves at chilly engagements.

In another fun touch, the caption of the carousel of William’s Father’s Day tribute was styled like a social media takeover from Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
“Happy Father’s Day, Papa (before and after!) We love you! G, C & L 💖,” the message said.

Father’s Day fell the day after Trooping the Colour, the British Army’s historic parade celebrating King Charles‘ official birthday as sovereign. Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis made their second public appearance of the year at the festivities in London the day prior, where they traveled by carriage to the parade with Princess Kate and appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace after.
Princess Charlotte pinned on an extra special accessory for Trooping on Saturday and wore the miniature horseshoe brooch she received as a gift from Queen Elizabeth.
PEOPLE exclusively revealed that the diamond brooch was a gift from Queen Elizabeth to her great-granddaughter and previously belonged to Queen Elizabeth’s mother, who was also called Queen Elizabeth and was popularly known as the Queen Mother.
Princess Charlotte made her debut in the heirloom for Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in September 2022 and accessorized with it again for the military parade on Saturday.
