‘It’s a sad reality’: Former Marine on military presence at L.A. protests
let me ask you Ross you’re here with a Mexican flag not American flag but you served in the US Marine Corps steven Miller might say “Well that’s a sign of an insurrection.” What does this flag mean to you well my parents came from Mexico that’s the thing my blood is Mexican i’m Mexican i was born here i love this country don’t get me wrong i love this country i will fight for this country any day but I’m also going to represent what my what runs through my blood which is a Mexican i’m Mexican at the end of the day your mom and dad came here and they weren’t documented but when you entered the Marine Corps you told me that through a legal pathway to citizenship you were able to get your parents papers to live in this country legally the Marines was your parents’ path to legalization so when you see the Marines here standing in between ice agents that are trying to deport people like your parents once were and you guys protesting I don’t know what do you think what does it make you feel like it makes me feel super sad and it makes me feel sad cuz a lot of the people I see here a lot of guys back here a lot of Marines they’re all Hispanic i know for a fact a lot of them have parents that were born in a foreign country too and I’m sure they’re trying to do the same thing that I did and take my pathway that I did to give to my parents their social citizenship but it’s it’s just sad it’s super sad if you were in the position of one of these Marines from 29 Palm standing up here right now and you had been deployed here what would you do they’re in a tough spot they are in a tough spot and I understand where they’re coming from too like I said I was in their shoes at one point i know when you’re active duty or even reservist honestly you can’t talk you can’t talk smack about the government cuz they’re your boss you’re just a number to them so you can’t really say nothing which sucks and it’s a sad reality if Donald Trump’s watching right now what do you want them to know keep it uh PG-13 i want him to have compassion for everyone like he said I was actually watching his rally uh yesterday he was talking about how farmers are losing a whole bunch of their workers that never committed any crimes or nothing like that he should think about that with the whole community cuz most people here are here to work they’re here to improve themselves they’re here for the American dream that’s what they want they want the American dream that’s what every everyone that comes here most people that come here is to they want to improve this country a quote that my parents but it’s funny but my parents were born in uh Mexico but a quote that my parents always taught to me was uh one by President John F kennedy when he became president it was like ask not what you can do for your country or no ask not what your country can do for you ask what you can do for your country i’ve always gone through it
“It makes me feel sad because a lot of the people I see here, a lot of guys back here, a lot of Marines, they’re all Hispanic…They are in a tough spot and I understand where they’re coming from, too. Like I said, I was in their shoes at one point.” NBC News’ Jacob Soboroff speaks with Ross Fuentes, a former Marine, about the military presence in Los Angeles.

This is a real man. He fights for a country that gave him a better life, and he fights for his people. This a real Mexican/American Marines. Thank you for your service Marine.
I have no sympathy for illegal immigrants getting deported
Too bad the gangs and all the illegal immigrants that are looting.Everything destroying our businesses causing nine targets to shut down. Thousands of americans losing their jobs because of these thieves.
He's pledge of allegiance to the Mexican culture…
Then he can go to Mexico and live his life in Mexico !!!
He's a disgrace. He just showed where his true loyalties lie when it really comes down to it. These dirty illegals are not here to assimilate they are here to leach off the system
💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
This is something DJT and minions will never understand.
The military is there for riots and violence control. Not to deport as a primary job.
Thank you for your patriotism as a soldier. I also am here as a first generation American. My grandfather fought for this country.
HE FORGOT THE MESSAGE. WHAT CAN YOU DO FOR YOUR COUNTY?
I like Ross
Go Home!!
Don't forget we're you came from never
I regret
They already poisoned us
They won
Not Venezuelans
This guy is fighting for what? 😂
He has a right the protest this is the only thing that makes sense. Showing foreign flag makes him want to go back to Mexico. It’s not a Mexican parade so please stop!!!!!
Just come legally, why is that so hard to understand .
Deport them all ..
I am still very confused. I am also a Marine, I love all my Marine brothers and sisters, and I’m also from California. So are we saying just allow anyone coming into America illegally?? So just because someone’s parents came here illegally, then had a child that served in the armed forces should grant them citizenship? Make that make sense.
There’s so many like him In all military Branches serving.
That flag represents a nationality, not a bloodline. This marine needs to educate herself
He’s confused… poor guy.. doesn’t understand geography at all.. you’re an American sir.. with southern North American blood. Yw
It’s sad that they love Mexico more then America but don’t want to leave the USA and correct me if I’m wrong how does someone come to America illegally and gain citizenship through joining the military don’t you have to come legally with the intention to join the military to gain citizenship I’m calling 🤥
if they want to improve the country self deport
This man speaks for majority if not 99.9 percent of them.
Wel go back to Mexico with your family, this is America and we have laws, thise that come her are guests, act like it and follow our laws. Encourage others to join the military so they can become legal. Semper fi
This is what the first amendment protects 🫡
Great… just come legally
I love this country 🎉🎉🎉
And so many White folk still take pride in their (European) heritage. And yes the newest & brownest immigrants were profiled as criminal: the Italians, Polish, Puerto Ricans, etc.
Trump cant give you guys what you guys want tension is rising and you guys making this worse. Once iran war is overTrump will walk back his deportation policy. With stricter guidelines very strict. No criminals
The mexican flag is american too. I mean, we're not Asian or African…
the Irish are allowed to be Irish at all times
It's just like when people carry their flags at a world cup or any event. People with sense know this man's feelings.
