Yep getting over covid now and had most of those symptoms last week. If it wasn’t for the clients stance of having a negative test my employer would have had me back at work today for sure.
The previous symptoms list.
1. Fever
2. A new and persistent cough
3. Loss or change in taste or smell
The newly revised symptoms list.
1. Fever
2. A new and persistent cough
3. Loss or change in taste or smell
4. Shortness of breath.
5. Feeling tired or exhausted.
6. An aching body.
7. A headache.
8. A sore throat.
9. A blocked or runny nose.
10. Loss of appetite.
11. Diarrhoea.
12. Feeling sick or being sick.
It’s hard not to look at this as the government previously trying to limit their testing costs, given the timing… but then I probably shouldn’t be surprised by that.
Yeah, it’s become a general‘I don’t feel so good’ illness now.
So basically it’s what everyone gets with a cold or flu at some stage. And if you can’t get free tests any more nobody is going to go off sick if they get “cold” symptoms especially if their company doesn’t pay enough sick pay.
I had Covid about a week ago, this is absolutely the types of symptoms I faced.
Day 1 – scratchy throat
Day 2 – sore throat, wet cough
Day 3 – headache, aches/pains, mild fever
Day 4 – the above but milder (first positive test)
Days 5-9 – almost all symptoms gone, but very sleepy/tired and smell/taste gone
Day 10 – taste came back, negative test
Keep an eye out for the scratchy throat. I thought it was just allergies.
Certainly wasn’t anything close to the terrifying virus we’ve seen on telly over the last few years.
Quite enjoyed the isolation. Managed to rewatch all of Breaking Bad.
Well I’ve got a sore throat now and I’m testing negative so far but I wouldn’t be surprised if a few days later it will be positive, lots of people ill at work atm. Actually, it’s all time high
“feeling tired”
Definitely a symptom that you get with Covid, but you can see why this wasn’t on the list of criteria that meant you could book a test, as it would cover pretty much half the country every day.
They widen the list to include very common symptoms of lots of different illnesses just as we have to start paying for tests. Maybe I’m getting a bit cynical in my old age?
So basically, if you have any common symptoms of pretty much any minor illness, it could be Covid, so… what’s the advice here? Isolate immediately? Buy a test?
Actually, knowing how this government is made up of a bunch of market-stall grifters with delusions of grandeur, it’s probably the latter. Nice little money-spinner for whoever’s gotten those LFT and PCR testing contracts.
Covid is mild. You can go to work and spread the disease to other.

Go back to work in office . Pandemic is over.

What’s the point in releasing these new symptoms now? Most people aren’t going to get tested as the Gov has already said if you’re vaccinated carry on as normal. So people will just come to work, go out and do whatever because they don’t have to isolate. Pretty much treat it like any other illness.
So the same symptoms as a cold or flu then. Got it. Cheers, Jan
So basically the same symptoms as hundreds of other illnesses. Good to know.
Everything that was here before covid is now covid
The new signs are:
Shortness of breath.
Feeling tired or exhausted.
An aching body.
A headache.
A sore throat.
A blocked or runny nose.
Loss of appetite.
Diarrhoea.
Feeling sick or being sick.
confirmed – exercise gives me covid
Half of these symptoms are just signs of being stressed and almost 40.
Wow a conveniently timed money spinner for the test kit manufacturers
They knew about these symptoms via the Zoe app whilst Delta was knocking around.
Had managed to dodge Covid since the start but caught it a couple of weeks ago. Had all of these symptoms and still a little short of breath. I’m fairly active and play football 2 or 3 times a week, last weeks footy was HARD and I was out of breath so easily, maybe a little lingering symptom that hasn’t quite vanished yet. Hopefully we clear up properly soon!
I am currently covid positive. Saturday afternoon/early evening I lost most of my sense of taste. I can taste salt and sweet only, with no flavour and can taste franks hot sauce.
I ate a gingerbread man yesterday and the only thing I could taste was the acidic bitter food colouring in the icing and it made me phyiscally gag.
Never had it before! Its made food interesting for sure since I can taste little bits and its not the bits youd expect.
That’s odd. I could have sworn headache was already a listed symptom.
Also, diarrhoea doesn’t surprise me. [There’s been past records of coronavirus causing fatal diarrhoea in pigs](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7094983/). Although, admittedly, that one is a SADS virus not a SARS virus like what’s currerntly circulating.
I had all of these last week! The worst bit is the aching bones…!
> A blocked or runny nose.
Looks like I have COVID for the last 20 years…
Still no mention of how badly it can fuck up the menstrual cycle though.
