UK has dentists working in McDonald’s and Subway as it struggles to fill work gaps

  1. UK has LONG had an over employment issue.

I know of software devs that work McDonalds or Asda.

  2. This is actually wild. I know that this country has a massive problem with immigration, but surely we should be doing everything in our power to get skilled workers into the gaps they are supposed to be filling.

  3. I used to work in a hospital and one of the cleaners used to be the finance minister for a small African country.

Interesting guy! Couldn’t get any other job that cleaning loos though.

  4. So if a dentist has to get a job in McDonalds because they’re not getting hired. Why is it I can’t find local dentist who isn’t already fully booked up?

  5. Not surprising we are being overrun by doctors, dentist, engineers etc, thousands are arriving everyday in Dover.

  6. This is the Tory madness we’re now stuck in.

We had 10 years of growing problems with short-staffing in a number of critical sectors inherently tied to government funding.

Government *refused* to increase funding despite increasing demand and a generally increasing population.

So now we’re stuck in a situation where we have both *desperate* shortages of workers like GPs and dentists, but at the same time so few available job openings due to lack of funding that fully qualified workers who want to do this work can’t find employment.
