In an urgent message posted on X (formerly Twitter), Huckabee urged all U.S. citizens in Israel who wish to depart to immediately enroll in the State Department’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) at mytravel.state.gov/s/step. Registered individuals will receive critical updates and instructions regarding departure options.

“Urgent notice! American citizens wanting to leave Israel—U.S. Embassy in Israel @usembassyjlm is working on evacuation flights & cruise ship departures,” Huckabee wrote. “You must enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP)… You will be alerted w/ updates.”

The announcement comes as tensions continue to rise in the region, prompting growing concern for the safety of foreign nationals. While details of the evacuation schedule have not yet been made public, embassy officials stress that enrollment in STEP is the primary means of communication for those requiring assistance.

The U.S. Embassy has reiterated its commitment to the safety of American citizens and is working in coordination with local authorities and transportation providers to organize safe departure routes by air and sea.

U.S. citizens in Israel are encouraged to monitor embassy alerts and be prepared to move quickly should transportation become available.
