Reacher is one of the most popular shows on streaming, and fans can’t wait to get a new installment. While the team is currently filming Season 4, they had a surprise visit on set.

Prime Video’s Reacher is the second adaptation of the Jack Reacher book series by Lee Child, after Tom Cruise took on the character in two films. However, the show received worldwide praise and boasts great reviews, with Season 4 set to continue the story after Season 3 aired its finale on Mar. 27, 2025. As they’re busy filming, Alan Ritchson just revealed on Instagram that a former president accidentally crashed the set: Joe Biden, and he even arm-wrestled him.

Alan Ritchson Fans Send Reacher Climbing Up Amazon’s Streaming Charts Following Major Season 4 Update

Reacher boasts a 96% score on Rotten Tomatoes and is getting a fourth season on Prime Video.

Ritchson shared the post on June 17, after meeting the former POTUS on June 16. The video included several photos of him and Joe Biden, shaking hands, talking, and laughing. “So our Reacher set got in the way of these legends,” the Reacher leading star wrote in the caption.

“Was a privilege and honor to meet the Biden family. They couldn’t have been more lovely. Kind, joyful, gracious and present.”

Ritchson jokingly added, “We chatted briefly about simple stuff, like string theory and quantum entanglement. Then Joe beat me at arm wrestling. All in a day’s work.” Considering that Reacher had just started filming on June 12, the accidental meeting was even more impressive.

Biden’s appearance on the set was purely accidental. The former president was on his way to breakfast with former First Lady Jill and son Hunter. They were on their way in Philadelphia, and ran into the crew members who were filming a police chase for Reacher Season 4.

A bystander told CBS Philadelphia that he was watching the crew film, and a black SUV arrived. “Out walked these men that I thought were actors, but then the entire cast and crew started clapping and cheering. Then someone said, ‘We love you, Joe. We love you!'”

Reacher is wasting no time casting the main players from Lee Child’s novel Gone Tomorrow, which serves as the basis for the upcoming fourth season.

Although Biden is not likely to make a cameo in the popular action thriller, he has appeared in TV shows before. The former POTUS had an appearance on Parks & Recreation, where he ran into the leading star, Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler), in Season 5. Leslie’s love for Biden was well-documented throughout the mockumentary sitcom, and she was starstruck when she finally met him as an engagement gift from Adam Scott’s Ben Wyatt.

Alan Ritchson Just Confirmed Season 4’s Jack Reacher Novel

The Lee Child book series featured multiple novels, and the series hasn’t been adapted in linear order. The first season adapted 1997’s debut novel, Killing Floor, with Season 2 adapting 2007’s Bad Luck and Trouble, the eleventh entry. Meanwhile, Season 3 followed the story of the 2003 novel Persuader, the seventh novel.

After teasing the novel with his production start for Season 4 photo, Alan Ritchson confirmed which Jack Reacher novel will be the focus of the new season: Gone Tomorrow. The novel was published in 2009 and marks the 13th addition. “The thing about subway cars is you step on one and you never know what’s going to happen,” Ritchson wrote in the caption, adding, “REACHER Season 4 will be based on Gone Tomorrow by Lee Child.”

Reacher Season 4 doesn’t have a release date yet.
