Princess Kate Cancels Appearance Over Work-Life Balance

  1. I wouldn’t want to speculate on the cancer side of things (we saw what happened last time), so if she’s exhausted or otherwise not feeling fighting fit, and that can happen suddenly, then I think the balance is right to cancel something like an Ascot appearance versus Trooping the Colour or Garter Day.

  2. Serious question: what exactly are the Royals, especially William and Kate, working on a normal day? They have relatively few public outings, so what are they doing in between? I know they have staff that needs to be delegated and organized, but what is it that they actually do?

  3. Is there more to this appearance than just turning up and socialising for a few hours, because I honestly think this is completely out of touch and privileged if not. It’s not like it’s going on tour for a few months, or working 10 hour shifts in retail.

  4. yeahhhhh, this doesn’t ring true. You don’t commit to 3 high-profile events for the same week and then cancel one on the day of because you woke-up and suddenly wanted “work-life balance.“ (And, really, these 3 events were more of the ’show up and look pretty‘ type than work type.)

If she needs a mental health day or she wants to spend a day out of sight for whatever reason, say that.

  5. I understand if it’s for medical reasons, but over work-life balance? How often does she even work?

  6. She can shed light on struggles a middle aged woman dealing with health problems face. As a public-facing royal it’s her arguably her responsibility. Step Up, Kate, you don’t have to be in pumps and a hat to raise awareness and do good.
