DoE Delegation Concludes Educational Visit to Denmark

Gladsaxe Municipality, Denmark: A delegation from the Department of Education (DoE), led by Education Kalon Tharlam Dolma Changra, recently concluded a weeklong visit to Denmark, aimed at strengthening educational collaboration, exploring innovative teaching practices, among other initiatives.

During the visit, the delegation engaged senior officials, academic institutions and senior education officials. At Vadgaard Skole in Gladsaxe Municipality, they were welcomed by School Director Ole Hovland and Jette Luna, Head of Integration Classes. The team observed classroom settings, including multigrade and reception classes, and held interactive sessions with teachers to exchange insights on inclusive learning practices.

The delegation also visited University College Absalon in Roskilde, where they met with Morten Birk Hansen, Head of the Study Program, as well as Susanne Pérez and Merete Hull Havgaard from the International Department. The visit included informative sessions on Denmark’s teacher education system, playful learning initiatives, and the intersection of ethnicity and education.Tenzin Pema, Director of the Office of Education Council (DoE), introduced the concept of Social, Emotional, and Ethical (SEE) Learning to university staff and international students during a roundtable discussion.

The visit also included a meeting with CICED Chairperson Dr Johnny Baltzersen and Deputy Chairperson Jette Luna to reinforce ongoing partnerships and explore future collaboration.
