Miley Cyrus insists that she wasn’t the one partying in the USA on the set of Hannah Montana.

On the latest episode of the Sorry We’re Cyrus podcast, the singer was asked by her mom, Tish Cyrus, to share “a core memory” from her days as a Disney Channel star that still makes her laugh.

“Dad smoking pot and everyone blaming me for it,” Miley responded, referring to her country star father, Billy Ray Cyrus, who also played her character’s dad on Hannah Montana. “It’s hilarious. He wasn’t sharing because Tish wasn’t toking yet.”

Tish said she’d been told her ex-husband had smoked weed on set but didn’t believe it at the time, and instead deflected the blame to one of Hannah Montana’s younger stars.

“They were calling me saying B-Ray was smoking pot, and I was saying, ‘Absolutely not. He would never do that. It’s Mitchel Musso,'” Tish said, laughing.

A representative for Billy Ray Cyrus reached by Entertainment Weekly declined to comment on the matter Thursday.

On the podcast, Miley suggested that Musso, who played her character’s friend Oliver Oken, also smoked weed on set. “Well, it was Mitchel Musso,” she said. “It was both.”

Musso, however, maintains that he has no memory of using marijuana on the Hannah Montana set. “Honestly, this made me laugh,” the actor tells EW. “That’s not how I remember it… and I’ve got plenty of stories from those years that might be worth having a conversation about.”

Musso adds, “If we’re revisiting Hannah Montana history — just say the word. Receipts. All love to Miley and the fam… even when the rewrites get this creative.”

Miley has previously said that she used marijuana at some point during Hannah Montana, which ran from 2006 to 2011. “I hadn’t quite left the show but I had started experiencing life,” she told David Letterman on My Next Needs No Introduction in 2024. “Like, I had definitely been drunk by the time I saw you [on The Late Show With David Letterman]. I had drank, I smoked some pot.”

The “Wrecking Ball” singer also told Zane Lowe that sobriety is “like my god” in a recent interview, but later walked back that comment. “I think that was a little dramatic,” she said of the remark in an interview with Every Single Album. “That was a little dramatic, because someone used that as a quote, and I was like, ‘Okay, I wouldn’t say it’s my god. I’m not gonna go into — I don’t do meetings or anything.”
