Two fans, all the windows open, took a freezing cold shower earlier. It’s not really working but there’s not much else to do!
I’m American and not used to the lack of air con even after two years living here.
Cold shower. Nothing on. Windows open. That’s all I got.
Ha! Is it really that hot? We get our dog’s haircut for the summer.
Wouldn’t it be better to put an ice pack next to the dogs bed instead of physically strapped to the dog? So that at least it has the option to move away from the ice pack if it starts to get too cold.
Fan on, window open now it’s the evening (though still 25 degrees ouch), and just had some icecream and frozen fruit.
I wanted to avoid going out today if possible, but ironically had to because I forgot to get more milk yesterday, ironic because the only reason I needed milk is because I prepped for the heat wave by getting a load of granola to have for lunches for a quick meal that didn’t need cooking.

Pedestal fan & spray misting, when it gets hot. We’re not quite there yet though.

Balcony windows are open and I’m considering dragging the mattress into the living room and sleeping by the balcony. The back bedroom is an oven

I’ve been wetting my dogs fur and skin as much as possible then give them fan time. my guy seems quite happy with the arrangement but I’ve bought him a sprinkler paddling pool thing thats arriving shortly too so I think that’ll go down really well!
Spray a towel with cool water, use that as your quilt.
Stripping my clothes off and not moving
I have been dragging husky into cool inside all day as she insists on sunbathing
My owner strapped an ice pack to me
Ive been suffering in this heat woke up with a crazy headache and had to take ibuprofen, somehow survived work today came home absolutely exhausted and went straight to bed and even now as I type my head still aches like a mf and don’t even get me started about the weird dreams I’ve been having lately God dayum

I’ve my air conditioning turned on in my flat.
I put the aircon on
Great investment, didn’t even cost that much.
Noisy though.
So I had to buy noise cancelling headphones.

I’ll fall asleep to a podcast with icy air blasting over me.
The national grid is on renewables, yeah. Else I’m not helping the situation in the long term.
Get Aircon. Best £3k i’ve ever spent!

my dog is in the baby’s room with the AC… meanwhile I’m sweating it out in my bedroom
industrial fan and my cats have water fountains with water in their foods, as well as frozen yoghurt treats. the sun makes me feel very very sleepy though.
And then what? Pressing the dog onto you or something? I feel like just attaching the ice pack straight to you would be more efficient.
28.6° in my attic studio right now – all the windows are open and I’m laying very still (and very nude).
I don’t think I’ll get any sleep, though!
I’m in the bedroom with the baby. The fan is on blast and the window’s open (it’ll only open an inch or two by design). Husband is graciously retiring to the guest room because he can’t stand the noise of the fan. I was born in a tropical country and had the fan on anyway every summer even growing up in the EU, so I’m used to the noise. We’ve been keeping the baby cool by sprinkling water on her and wiping her down in wet-wipes. She’s sleeping in only her nappy.

We bought two portable AC’s they keep our one bed flat nice and cool, and loud.
I got a bunch of chronic illnesses alongside long covid in 2020, and heat absolutely takes me out. These ugly ass units are lifesavers.
Anybody would think it’s 45+. It’s in the high 20s. Get over it.
I dunno, I’ve tried strapping an ice pack to my dog but I’m still sweltering
I’m not staying cool that’s how I’m just dying over here
I bought a £400 ish AEG air conditioner machine for my dog. It’s made a huge difference and hot days like these are a lot less stressful as I’m so worried about her getting heat stroke. With the air con, I can get her room down to 19 degrees. Especially important as I have to leave her alone for a few hours while I’m at work.
Try wearing a tee shirt in bed – it stops the sheets sticking to you.
I’m lying in bed covered in a wet towel like a burn victim. It’s working.
Spent £250 and got a portable air conditioner. Absolute life saver with two huskies.
It actually got too cold for me and I had to go outside to warm up.
been sleeping under a fleece duvet but I wouldn’t recommend
It’s not too bad at the moment. Window open, fan on. But still duvet on bed.
When it gets really hot I’ll use a damp towel instead of my duvet.
With the lovely air conditioning that I installed in 2022 😊
