  5. Rejoining would be more of a shit show than leaving. So many countries that dislike the UK will make it an absolute nightmare of paperwork. The amount of concessions that would have to be made would frankly be embarrassing for the government that signs it. They would never survive the elextion and even after all that if reform or the tories ever get their hands on Westminster it’ll be “brexit hype” all over again. Rejoining simply isn’t on the table. The Brits made their bed and they can lie in it (dragging the rest of us along with them)

    A more sensible decision would be joint the EEA

    Listen, the UK is not rejoining the EU in the next 20-30 years, if ever.
    It’s done.
    I voted to remain btw but we need to stop picking at the scab that is Brexit.

  7. It’s pretty nuts how strongly a lot of unionist places are so strongly pro-EU and this is not represented at all amongst the unionist political parties (except for UUP who are in major decline)

  8. Honestly the main reason I was ever against leaving the EU was the impracticality and divisions it would create for us here.

    Those issues have came and went (there are still issues though), and in the meantime the EU has enthusiastically supported the genocide of the Palestinian people. The EU president just days ago spoke with a wanted war criminal to vow the support of the EU without consulting individuals European states, some of whom reject EU support.

    I am concerned about the attempts to further militarise the EU as well.
    The EU can only be a force for good if good people are elected to represent nation states, and with that in mind I think there are too many risks that would embroil us in war and conflict from the rise of the right-wing in Europe.

    … but like if there’s ever a united Ireland and we rejoin the EU then I will remain an EU sceptic.

  20. I don’t think it would be right to after the vote fairly recently but do think there should be a vote every day 20 to 30 years as the eu changes over time. There are major issues with the eu but shouldn’t have left.we should also now join if it a condition was joining euro at some stage

    I’m Scottish and voted leave for good reasons.

    I want no attachment to Westminster simple as.

    Westminster used it’s full force in the Scotland referendum including issuing D notices to papers because information could hurt the union… Well duh.

    So that to me was saying I’m not getting my freedom Englands playing same old games.

    Next referendum comes about England wants it’s freedom even though it’s no subjected a beautiful irony. So I voted leave again just to watch it suffer knowing I will too knowing I was already.

    But what really cost the election and why project fear was so powerful was because it was a choice of what we knew and what didn’t know.

    If Scotland was to be independent while England was in the EU it would have kept us out until we signed all we had away. (There talking about a national water for a reason my loch is to drain to water their grass? Fuck that)(If thirst was there then nae bother but I’m no draining lochs to mitigate hose pipe bans).

    So help vote England out the EU only reasonable choice ain’t it like we all suffer now but my suffering will be alot shorter. And they can’t vote to keep us out when they are out.

    Now for some place that apparently just costs money and piggy banks on and is a parasite, we ain’t allowed to leave?… Imagine that’s your wee sister! Getting called all the cunts but when she says fuck it then I’m off, your not allowed to leave? That’s an abusive relationship.

    So I voted for us all to burn. Difference is EU is asking Scotland to join now. England cut it’s nose of to spite it’s face. Spain wasn’t going to let us in largely because of Catalan and midgingly because English votes now mean something in Spain like the English are huge there now.

    Now it will be Orban he will veto just to make trouble but it’s open now bar for him that needs booted out.

    I look about my wee town the community center the new school the better road all EU money I remember this before Boris ordered the placards saying EU funded being taken down.

  24. What about the people like me who were disenfranchised because we were living and working abroad for 15 plus years? Still citizens but with no vote on something that affects us daily.

    I think you’d need to get rid of the pound which I can only assume is a non starter for a large majority of people
