The Labor and Social Insurance Ministry has issued a public call of interest to private sector businesses looking for high-specialty officers living in the US, ahead of the new event in the “Rebrain Greece” series to attract Greeks abroad to return to jobs in Greece in New York City on Sunday, December 7.
So far, Rebrain Greece events held in Amsterdam, Dusseldorf, London and Stuttgart attracted the participation of over 5,000 Greeks working abroad, encouraging the ministry to expand the action to the United States, and New York in particular, where most Greeks in the US live.
Prospective employees will have the opportunity to talk to companies operating in Greece, whether Greek or international, and participating companies will have the opportunity to network with a large number of Greeks excelling abroad for partnerships or employment.
The Greek state offers significant incentives to returning Greeks, including a 50% tax reduction for seven years, and special fast-track procedures for doctors get their specialties recognized. According to Eurostat data, a total of 659,547 Greeks left their country between 2010 and 2023, and 422,688 have returned.
