TWO Czech lecturers who are set to host talks in Malvern in the coming weeks have drank to the health of King Charles during his official birthday celebrations at the British Embassy in Prague.
The pair, Dr. Hana Pazlarová and Dr. Petr Somol, who will be hosting talks in Malvern on their respective fields of study were guests of British Ambassador Matt Field at His Majesties celebrations.
For the local talks, Dr Pazlarova will talk about her role as CEO of Czech Children’s Villages which provide family-based support for children with social problems and will also discuss artificial intelligence (AI) in social care. Entrance is free. Tickets from TicketSource or on the door.
The CEO is a former vice dean of Charles University in Prague and Director of the College of Applied Social Studies.
Her talk will be hosted at 2.30pm on Monday, June 30 at Great Malvern Priory before Dr Somol hosts a lecture at the same venue from 7pm on Tuesday, July 1.
Dr Somol leads the research and development team at Gen Digital, where he focuses on building advanced AI solutions to protect consumers from a wide spectrum of digital threats, including viruses, malware, scams, fraud and online manipulation.
He will share practical insights and personal advice aimed at younger audience members on how to stay safe online and prepare for a future shaped by intelligent technologies.
Working at the very highest level of the science Dr Somol will explain that the potential of AI is vast and will explore some hopes for the future. He will also highlight some of the critical risks faced in our interactions with the digital world.
At Dr Somol’s event, entrance is free for under 18s, school leavers and students. £10 for the public Tickets from TicketSource or on the door.
Dr Somol will also talk to members of the British Computer Society at an advanced level at The Hive Worcester on Thursday, July 3 at 7 pm. Tickets are free of charge from Eventbrite.
