Ukrainian ambassador calls for Russian ‘Z’ symbol to be banned following protests in Dublin

  1. Slippery slope when you start banning things imo. These eejits just showing everyone else who they are so no bad thing.

  2. I always think of a zombie apocalypse when I see the ‘Z’. I’m not being smart about it saying they’re following without thinking and all that. I’m nearly sure there was a film or a show with the ‘Z’ symbol.

  3. “Mommy, what’s that stripey horse called?”

“It’s an Ebra, dear. Come along now and we’ll get some Domino’s Pia for dinner”.

  4. Honestly? It shouldn’t be, a very small group of edgy/brainwashed gobshites will use it, but we shouldn’t be going down the path of banning symbols that we disagree with.

  5. It’s like driving around with a Nazi swastika.
    Provocative and just plain wrong.
Who on earth could support what Putin’s army is doing to Ukraine?
Might just be ignorant idiots looking to cause trouble rather than die-hard supporters of the war, but they should definitely be questioned at least.

  6. Utter discrace that’s allowed here , fucking Russian navy off our coast doing firing drills a few weeks ago …fuck the mudering supporting fuckers back were they came from.

  7. Public Safety Announcement for new drivers: Make very, very sure your “N” plates are securely attached….

  8. Spotted a car with in a local town with mini Russian flags flying. One of the more annoying things I’ve spotted lately tbh.

  9. No we shouldn’t ban it. It’s like the red caps in America. It’s a way for gobshites to identify themselves to the rest of us.

No more wondering “is that a gobshite?”. We can know just by looking. They’re self-identifying.

Of course, we do need to make some allowances for the victims of Zorro.

  10. No, let’s not go knee-jerk banning letters of the alphabet. Let people show their support and express their opinions, on boths sides, and let the pro-invasion protestors be massively outnumbered and make fools of themselves.

  11. Were there really that many showing support or was it a bit like in Germany where it seemed like there were more due to them being in cars etc?

  12. No chance we’ll ban the symbol, but I’d be very happy if we found a way for any non-nationals displaying it to be kicked out of the country.

  13. Eh how about no slippery slope to ban things like this and besides 99.9% know that people with that on their cars are gobshites so whats the point

  14. No. Seems like censorship and an attack on freedom of speech and expression.

There’s a list of things we should ban before we get to letters.
