  1. Bought a portable AC unit a few years back, it only gets a few outings a year but still one of my best investments ever

  2. If you are someone who needs cooling for medical reasons or anything else have a look at Screwfix they sell a fan which is about 35 quid and it’s probably the best investment that you can it moves air around 10 miles an hour

  3. Then get a better fan. Or better yet, a cooler.

There’s freestanding evaporative coolers and the like out there.

  4. The fan will only cool via evaporative cooling at these temperatures (unless you are using it as a positive/negative pressure ventilation near a window).

They actually warm the room up when used in a closed space as they’re essentially little heaters outputting the rated power of the motor 10/20/50watt

  5. Aye I see what the problem is. You got the £15 fan from Argos when you should have saved up for the £20 fan from Dunelm.

  6. If it helps I just wasted £140 on a shit Vortex fan that claimed to be cooling, but is actually no better than the £15 Argos cheapie.

Oh and because I’ve used it they won’t accept a return, so I’m down a ton of money and STILL getting heat exhaustion
