LOS ANGELES (TNND) — Vice President JD Vance will visit Los Angeles in the wake of widespread rioting across the city, according to Fox News.

Vance will reportedly meet with Marines and tour a Federal Joint Operations Center and a Federal Mobile Command Center. He is also expected to deliver “brief remarks” during the trip.

The White House did not respond to a request for comment from The National News Desk seeking confirmation of the reporting.

His visit follows several days of mass rioting in the city to protest federal immigration enforcement. President Donald Trump deployed members of the National Guard and Marines to the deep-blue city to quell the riots, sparking outrage among Democratic leaders.

House Republicans this week launched an investigation into Gov. Gavin Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass over violence that occurred during the riots. Some individuals involved in the riots were witnessed burning cars and assaulting law enforcement officers.

Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Thursday denied claims by the Los Angeles Dodgers that its agents were denied access to the Dodger Stadium parking lot. The Department of Homeland Security wrote, however, its agents were “in the stadium parking lot very briefly” on unrelated business.

“This morning, ICE agents came to Dodger Stadium and requested permission to access the parking lots,” the team wrote. “They were denied entry to the grounds by the organization. Tonight’s game will be played as scheduled.”
