Contact your city officials, maybe host a letter-writing party with some friends to increase your impact. Car-free initiatives [may](https://www.smarttransport.org.uk/news/latest-news/public-support-car-free-days-in-towns-and-cities) be more popular than you’d think.

  2. How about public transport that is cheaper and as fast as personal cars? My local town decided to increase bus prices to £5.30 per person, which means as soon as it’s more than one person is cheaper to park in the centre for 7 hours.

For me it’s always better to drive in as public transport is impossible where I am, and I can charge my car for free.
