BEAUMONT, Texas — ExxonMobil graduated 30 students Friday from its 409 Energy Scholars Program, marking the largest class since the initiative began three years ago.
The ceremony took place at Lamar Institute of Technology’s Paul and Connie Szuch Multi-Purpose Building.
Students from Beaumont Independent School District completed a two-week program that provided access to ExxonMobil’s Beaumont facilities.
The program, launched in 2022, has graduated nearly 75 students from the district. Officials describe it as the only program of its kind in Southeast Texas.
