It’s wild that the state can just overrule what you decide to do with your own body while writhing in pain and agony for months. I feel like maybe the person suffering from a terminal illness knows better how they want to live or not live than some random old men in London.
I’ve seen both sides of this, the indignity of succumbing to cancer or Alzheimer’s , and the pressure older people can feel when everyone treats them as a burden (Alzheimer’s in this case). I am glad that England and Wales finally have some kind of solution ready to be made law, in 4 years? A lot of Europe is way ahead of them though.
