They have brought in 61-times capped Moeka Minami, 26, as their first new face of what looks like being a busy summer.

Minami recently completed a contract at Roma and is a national team colleague of Seagulls winger Kiko Seike.

Helped by a hat-trick on her debut, Seike made a successful transition to the English top flight last term having arrived direct from the Japanese league and Urawa Red Diamonds.

Albion will hope Minami, who also started out at Urawa but has had significant European experience, can follow suit.

Head coach Dario Vidosic said: “It’s great to welcome Moeka to the club. She has got vast experience both for her country and in Europe with Roma and she will be an exciting addition to our squad.

Minami helped Roma win back-to-back league tiles and has played at the last two World Cup as well as having Champions League experience.

The Italian club said a heartfelt farewell to her via social media and said she had left an indelible mark with them.

Albion have parted company with six senior players this summer as well as seeing two loanees return to their parent clubs.
