a city of 10 million hunkering down waiting and preparing for the worst iranians woke to near empty streets in Thran shops shuttered and the historic Grand Bazaar closed the only lines in sight were cars queuing for petrol with many hoping to leave the Iranian capital with Donald Trump calling for an immediate evacuation of the city and with Israel calling for civilians to flee an area of the city center many residents on social media say they have nowhere to go we cannot flee there’s no way to flee we’re here shut inside waiting till when we don’t know how long this situation will last or how long we’ll be alive for days now the traffic has been bumperto-bumper on streets leaving the city but there are no specific plans or guidelines for an evacuation thrron’s population is roughly the equivalent of the entire country of Israel iranian authorities insist that all is under control iranian media though reported explosions and heavy defense fire and Israel claims to have killed Ali Shadmani the armed forces chief of staff and an aid to the Supreme Leader he is just one in a long list of Iranian top brass that have been killed in Israeli strikes since Friday iran’s Revolutionary Guard claims they’re now using a new powerful wave of missiles towards Israel and it says it’s destroyed strategic targets with drones air raid sirens could be heard over Jerusalem and Tel Aviv with loud booms of intercepted missiles above those cities skies there too civilians are seeking refuge with many fleeing to underground bomb shelters and parking lots went off we ran to the shelters and that’s what saved our lives if we hadn’t made it there we wouldn’t be here now my neighbor didn’t have time to reach the shelter and was crushed under the rubble in Hudzlia just north of Tel Aviv firefighters rushed to extinguish smoldering buses that were hit by Iranian strikes
Donald Trump has called for an immediate evacuation of Tehran while Israel has urged civilians to flee an area of the Iranian capital’s centre as the aerial war between Israel and Iran enters a fifth day. But many residents in the city of 10 million say on social media that they have nowhere to go.

There is every opportunity to leave Tehran for an able bodied person, as the mountainous countryside is nearby, as are many villages.
It certainly isn’t right that the inhabitants of Tehran should be expected to flee, especially on the behest of someone such as Donald Trump, and being mindful that this was more or less the ultimatum given to the inhabitants of Gaza, and the world knows what happened there!
Gotta feel bad for the once-proud Persian peoples of Iran. Subject to tyrannical rule the last 50 years and now fearful an Israeli or US misfire might hit a civilian neighborhood. This recent sequence of events must have the population completely baffled.
